Controlling greenhouse gas emission has been a major problem in climate change researches. Each country builds up the GHG inventory which is greenhouse gas statistcal system in accordance with Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) guide lines. In the process of constructing greenhouse gas inventory, estimation of uncertainties is also required. Uncertainty is a quantitive index in realiability of greenhouse gas emission. Estimating uncertainties are also linked to realiability of greenhouse gas inventory. This review paper overviewed the concepts of uncertainty assessment, summarizing the sources of uncertainties from the data and information, the techniques for quantifying uncertainties, and the methods to combine uncertainties, according to the guidelines and the reports from IPCC, GPG, and NIR which provide internationally agreed methodologies intended for use by countries to estimate greenhouse gas inventories to report.
